Modern Auricular Acupuncture Course

Students are expected to have and produce a copy of an anatomy / physiology qualification.

If you have no anatomy / physiology qualification, then a course can be arranged as this is a pre-requisite to attending the Modern Auricular Acupuncture course.

The course is NOT a home study course, and as far as we are concerned you cannot learn any acupuncture at home with a book !

If you are considering doing one of these courses, please don't waste your time and money, as they are not worth the paper that they are written on.

An example of which are courses that teach formulae auricular acupuncture and utilise 'beeper' units.

A beeper unit is a point finder that beeps when it finds a point.

At best with a beeper unit its a good guess !

It does not do anything else but tell the person that a point has been found.

If you use one of these units, then you will find 'lots of points'.

So, objectively ask yourself which point or points are you going to treat ?

You could use the enny meanee minny mo way of choosing a point for treatment.

Or just take it for what it is, that a point that has been found, nothing more nothing less, as far as information goes.

You may be smiling but a lot of practitioners have been taught this way and don't know any different.

The school uses measurement units, so that the points can be assessed as to whether they are relevant or not ?

Each point is an information center about what is and may be happening with its associated relationships.

The same also applies to body acupuncture points that are taught with the auricular course.

The ESMA course is not a no smoking / slimming or drug detoxification course, apart from the drug detoxification the smoking and slimming have helped to denigrate 'proper' Auricular Acupuncture as a diagnostic and treatment system in its own right.

Some body points are taught utilising measurement techniques that will allow the student to use them with auricular findings as an option of combining them together in treatment.

Modules

The course is in modular form so that students can assimilate information and concepts in a terminology that are in plain English using medical terminology.

Each module is structured and layered for ease of learning, we do not throw everything at students all at once.

Each module is based over two days typically a Saturday & Sunday, with homework assignments.

Plus one extra weekend for examinations, the first day being revision and second day examinations.

We do not teach formulae auricular or for that matter formulae body acupuncture as a school.

This is not a TCM course it is a Modern Auricular Acupuncture Course.

A thinking approach is encouraged and taught throughout the course, with measurement techniques and their applications to treatment.

What we expect from you.

We expect commitment and enthusiasm with a willingness to learn.
