Modern Acupuncture
Many people are aware of the practice of Acupuncture and associate this terminology with puncturing the skin with a needle. However acupuncture has progressed and now it is not necessary to puncture the skin with needles because other types of treatments and systems have now been developed. The various ways that do not use needles tend to come under one heading and are termed :
Modern Acupuncture
This form of treatment utilises the ancient form of acupuncture with Modern Diagnostic Methods and Treatments which were not available in the earlier times of its conception as a treatment system some 4,500 years ago.
Auricular acupuncture is a treatment in its own right, as is body acupuncture. There are however distinct advantages in using the auricle one of the more obvious being that the patient does not need to undress for diagnosis and treatment.
Treatments
The treatment should consist of a thorough consultation by the practitioner. This is then followed by an examination of the auricle to indicate the patients previous and current condition.
Various modes of treatment are available to the Modern practitioner with or without the use of needles to suit both the practitioner and the patients needs.
Conditions
The conditions helped with auricular acupuncture with these Modern Methods are numerous and are not taught within TCM acupuncture, whether it be body or auricular acupuncture.
Students are taught to treat conditions by looking at the person as a whole and not just the symptoms, we do not teach formulae acupuncture as a school. This is achieved with the more modern diagnostic measurement methods available to the practitioner in this day and age.
